Library as a Learning Resource

The Central Library plays a key role in supporting academic and research activities. It has been fully automated since 2009 using SOUL (Software for University Libraries), developed by INFLIBNET. The current version in use is SOUL 3.0, which supports MARC21, Unicode, and RFID technology, streamlining all library operations including acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, and serial control.


Library Automation (ILMS – SOUL – RFID)
  • Automation: 100% automation achieved; over 23,910 bibliographic records entered in SOUL.
  • RFID Technology: Ensures easy and centralized issue/return process across all department libraries.
  • Web OPAC: Accessible via SOUL 3.0 for bibliographic and resource availability details.
  • DELNET: Interlibrary Loan facilitated through DELNET, with access to union catalogues and various databases.

  • Physical Collection: Over 23,910 books and 100 e-journals.
  • E-Resources: 4,10,00,000+ Books available for loan, 1,12,000+ list of Journals 15,000+ Full-text E-journals 1,45,000+ Thesis/Dissertations
  • SHODHGANGA: 159+ theses uploaded.
  • Anti-Plagiarism: DrillBit software used for plagiarism detection; 350+ theses and papers processed.

Kutch Corner

Dedicated section for regional research with 1,600+ books in Kutchi language and literature, including 74 rare books and newspapers.
