The Department of Research and Development at Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in research across various disciplines. Key Responsibilities


  1. Research Enhancement and Quality Control: Acts as a facilitator for research enhancement, focusing on maintaining high standards and promoting quality control in research projects.
  2. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): Oversees the signing of MoUs and manages various research initiatives, ensuring proper documentation of activities and achievements.
  3. Ph.D. Program Administration: Manages the entire Ph.D. process, including admissions, guideship, coursework, and all related administrative tasks, in alignment with University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations and university ACT/Statutes/regulations.
  4. Research and Development Schemes: Implements and manages various schemes aimed at supporting faculties and students in their research endeavors.
  5. Legal Queries and RTI: Addresses legal inquiries related to research and development, ensuring compliance with UGC regulations and university ACT/Statutes/regulations.
  6. Budget Management: Responsible for managing the university's/government’s/funding agencies’ budget allocated for research activities.
  7. Research Information Summarization: Summarizes research and development information at the institute level each academic year.
  8. Grants and Funding: Facilitates access to various grants and funding opportunities, including those from RUSA, UGC, and other organizations.
  9. Project Management: Handles processes related to research and consultancy projects, ensuring effective management and execution.
  10. Training and Development Programs: Organizes faculty development and training programs for research students, teaching, and non-teaching staff.
  11. Scholarships and Fellowships: Promotes research scholarships and fellowships at multiple levels for students and faculty members.
  12. Inter-disciplinary Research: Encourages and promotes inter-disciplinary research activities, fostering collaboration among various fields.
  13. Training Sessions, Seminars, Workshops and Conferences: Organizes events to enhance the research capabilities of the community.
  14. Collaboration with Funding Agencies: Coordinates with state, national, and international research funding agencies to secure necessary support.
  15. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR): Assists in patent applications and IPR-related matters to protect innovative research outputs.
  16. Engagement with Experts: Facilitates the involvement of retired and active experts in research activities to enhance the university's knowledge base.
